I don’t know about the rest of you, but my big turnoff is trying to call a company about a problem and getting that recorded message we all hate to hear: “Your call is important to us.”

Then you get the runaround of press 1, press 2 and so on and so on, all this time listening to songs that bore you to tears. Finally, you get a person to talk too and explain your problem, only to find out you have the wrong department: “Hold on while I connect you with so and so.”

Now you start the whole procedure again.

I’m 80 years old, and lately as soon as hear that message I hang up and either take the loss or hire someone to fix my problem. I know that’s playing right into their plan, but after having waited some length of time most of us seniors finally do give up.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would love to hear it.
