WATERVILLE — Ted Rioux, who led the Waterville Senior High School girls basketball team to three straight state titles and a 67-game winning streak, has been named the women’s basketball coach at Thomas College.

The hire was announced in a press release from the school Wednesday.

Rioux led Waterville to state titles in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He leaves Waterville with a record of 84-23 and was 13-1 in the state tournament.

He was also the varsity girls basketball coach at Belfast from 2001-06. Rioux is a 1993 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington.
