FARMINGDALE — Selectmen say the town will work with residents who have problems with malfunctioning culverts.

Board of Selectmen Chairman David Sirois suggested the town notify residents whose property abuts any site where the town installs a culvert or does other road work.

David Sirois told the board Wednesday he visited Russell Hubbard’s Easy Street residence to check the water flowing problem from a culvert that Hubbard said residents in his neighborhood were having.

In other business:

* Selectman Doug Ebert announced the Firemen’s Association got its first donation for the Flags in Farmingdale project, from a former resident who now lives in Michigan.

* Andy Hendrickson, a member of the Farmingdale Road Advisory Committee, told selectmen the committee has been looking into cost-effective ways to pave a portion of Sheldon Street.

* Assistant Fire Chief Michael LaPlante told selectmen that more street signs have been stolen since last week, bringing the total to eight.

* He also told selectmen that officers of the Fire Department were invited to tour the North Whitefield Fire Department, and he asked selectmen if they would be interested in seeing it, too. Even though Farmingdale has no land on which to build a station, LaPlante said, it doesn’t hurt to think ahead. Selectmen agreed to visit the station, tentatively at the end of August.
