State drug agents arrested four people at two apartments in Waterville and Winslow, seizing drugs, paraphernalia and an illegal knife, police said Friday.

The arrests were the culmination of a months-long investigation into drug-trafficking in the area, said Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey. Officers in Waterville and Winslow assisted the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency in executing the search warrants Friday, he said.

“This has been an ongoing investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency into these folks for the last two to three months,” Massey said. “As the investigation continued, they realized it would spill over into both Waterville and Winslow.”

The first arrest was made Monday in Winslow. State drug agents arrested Joshua Michaud, 36, of 77 Clinton Ave., Apt. 102, Winslow, charging him with felony counts of aggravated trafficking of cocaine and unlawful trafficking of cocaine. He was later released on bail.

Then, Friday about 11 a.m., drug agents executed a search warrant at 1 Richardson Court, Apt. 1, Waterville. Drug agents were looking for the apartment’s tenant and Michaud’s girlfriend, Misty Doyon, 31, but she wasn’t there. However, there were two other people there: Sasha Donahue, 26, and Jesse Thompson, 27.

Donahue was charged with three counts of unlawfully possessing prescription drugs and Thompson was charged with trafficking in dangerous knives and summoned on a charge of sale and use of drug paraphernalia.

Waterville Det. Lincoln Ryder said police seized 12 prescription pills from the Richardson Court apartment and a 4-inch butterfly knife that’s illegal because of its quick blade release.

At the same time, drug agents and police executed a warrant back at the Clinton Avenue apartment and found Doyon there, as well as 4-year-old child, Ryder said. It wasn’t clear who the parents of the child are or the gender.

Doyon was arrested on felony charges of aggravated trafficking of cocaine, unlawful trafficking of cocaine, as well as lesser charges of violating conditions of release and on a warrant for unpaid fines and fees. Her bail was set at $5,500 unsecured.

Ryder said police seized cocaine at both apartments, but he declined to say how much.

Both Doyon and Michaud are scheduled to appear in Kennebec County Superior Court in Augusta Dec. 27. Both Donahue and Thompson were released on bail; Donahue is scheduled to be in Waterville District Court Nov. 8 and Thompson on Nov. 22.
