A Vienna man says he is guilty of assaulting a homeowner during a burglary in Farmington earlier this year.
Justin Meyer, 18, pleaded guilty in Franklin County Superior Court to burglary and assault, according to the Lewiston Sun Journal.
The owner of a house on Red School House Road arrived home on April 14 to find Meyer and a 17-year-old in his bedroom. The homeowner told the intruders to sit on his bed as he called police, but Meyer hit him several times in the head and face during his bid to escape the room, according to the Sun Journal.
Meyer and the juvenile were arrested after state police with a dog tracked them 5 miles into the woods.
Meyer told police he broke into the house in hopes of finding marijuana.
Meyer is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 2. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
