The city manager has proposed a ban on fireworks, but I suggest the council take a wait-and-see position.

A moratorium to a date certain on the establishment of a fireworks shop could be put in place to alleviate the city manager’s concern about shutting down an established business.

If the fire chief’s concerns do materialize, a ban on fireworks could be put in place at a later date. I must say, however, that Augusta is not Los Angeles.
