NEWPORT — Brittany Dunton scored two goals and Kendra Underhill added 11 saves to lead the Nokomis Regional High School field hockey team past Winslow 2-1 in an Eastern B semifinal game Saturday.
Leah Edmondson, who needs one goal to tie the Nokomis single-season record of 34, had an assist.
“It was an intense game,” she said. “I try not to think about the record, but it’s always on your mind. But I can’t think about it too much, because if I do I won’t get there.”
Nokomis (15-0-1), the defending Class B state champions, will play either Belfast or John Bapst for the regional title Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Hampden Academy.
No. 5 Winslow finished 12-4-0.
