READFIELD — Defenders Nick Lacasse and Zach Elwell scored on set plays about 10 minutes apart early in the first half to lift the Maranacook Community High School boys soccer team past Morse 2-1 in a Western B quarterfinal game Wednesday night at Ricky Gibson Field of Dreams.

No. 4 Maranacook (12-3-0) will play at top-seeded York (12-1-2) in a regional semifinal game Saturday at 1 p.m.

“We drained it all out of ourselves,” Maranacook senior captain striker Jon Varney said. “We definitely had to work for this one.”

Cody Snyder scored the lone goal for No. 5 Morse (8-6-1), which came just 2:25 into the second half.
