The National Weather Service says a weekend storm will bring more than 6 inches of snow to parts of Maine.

Meteorologist Tom Hawley said some computers models originally indicated the storm would blow out to sea. Instead, he says it’ll give a late-October wallop to the state starting Saturday night.

He says that by the time it ends most of southern Maine will see more than 6 inches of snow.

Hawley says many trees still have some leaves, so the combination of heavy snow and wind will cause falling tree limbs and power outages in addition to making roads slippery.
