When a deranged person uses the false logic, that if he eliminates an abortionist, he will save many babies lives, he is attempting to absolve himself of any wrongdoing (murder) against the good that will come from his action (babies saved).
Amy Cookson’s letter of Oct. 25, “Planned Parenthood gives health care to 1 in 5 women,” employs the same false logic.
She claims, “90 percent of the services Planned Parenthood provides are preventative health services.” This infers that 10 percent of services of PPH must not be of a preventative nature. She is subliminally attempting to justify abortion by only listing PPH’s good services.
You can never justify any evil, in this case abortion, or the killing of an abortionist, with the good you provide, or the good that might result from your actions. You can’t balance evil versus good in order to justify the evil.
There is a “natural law” written on every human’s heart which enables us to distinguish between good and evil. It’s called conscience.
Abortion is intrinsically evil. To admit otherwise for whatever reason is to admit to having an improperly formed conscience.
