David Smith is a solid choice for the Augusta City Council.
David understands the city’s functions from many perspectives; from leadership positions in the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, to the many key volunteer positions in he has held in city government.
He has served as member/chair of Augusta Planning Board and as a trustee and as chair or vice-chair the Augusta Water District, the Augusta Consolidated Water & Sanitary District, and the Greater Augusta Utility District, which includes a number of surrounding towns.
During a time of rapidly rising costs in this area, because of federal and state mandates and increasing material costs, he worked hard to find efficiencies, consolidations, and an expanded user base to minimize the impact on the Augusta ratepayer.
