AUGUSTA — The Augusta Police Department is looking for a white male who stands 6-feet tall and weighs between 165 and 190 pounds wearing jeans, navy style pea coat and a black watch cap.
The man is being sought in an assault case that occurred Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy on Capitol Street.
The male robbed a 64-year old man just as he reached his car and opened the door. The man grabbed the victim’s wallet and keys to his car.
“The victim was struck on the head with an unknown object,” said Lt. Christopher Massey. “The suspect stole the victim’s wallet and car keys. The suspect then fled north behind CVS. Officer’s established a perimeter around the area while the victim was treated by Augusta fire/rescue. The suspect was not located.”
Massey said CVS has a small patch of woods behind it and the suspect fled through the woods to an unknown direction from there.
“The victim was transported to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for laceration on his head,” he said. “The victim’s name is being withheld at this time.”
Anyone who saw the attacker at about 4:30-4:45 p.m. on Saturday should call the police at 626-2370.
