FARMINGTON — Police arrested Brian Sweeney, 31, earlier this morning in connection with an ax and meat cleaver attack last week.
Sweeney and Shari L. Dupree, 31, are accused of attacking Jeremiah Gattis, 33, in his Poverty Lane mobile home on April 4. Gattis feared if he didn’t fight back they would kill him and his girlfriend.
“I was covered in blood and just trying not to get murdered,” Gattis said.
Sweeney faces charges of burglary and aggravated assault and is being held at Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington. He will appear in Farmington District Court today at 1 p.m.
Dupree was arrested Monday and was released later that day on $2,500 cash bail from Franklin County Detention Center.
