AUGUSTA — National Poetry Month will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Viles Arboretum.

Poets David Moreau, Claire Hersom, Jeannie Scudder, Jennifer Tripp and Russell Libby will read poems, round-robin style, in the Arboretum’s West Room. The West Room is located in the lower level of the main building overlooking the picturesque, rolling fields and trails that Arboretum fans have enjoyed in all seasons for years. Dispersed throughout the evening of poetry, guitarist Patrick Shepard and guest vocalists Brian Perkins, Amanda Lefurgy and Chris Pressey will perform songs by Lyle Lovett, Nora Jones, Keb Mo, John Meyer and more, as stated in a news release.

The event is free to the public and refreshments will be served.
