Why is it OK for school buses and dump trucks to exceed the 25 mph posted speed limit on our Waterville streets?

When either one hits the many potholes on our streets, it sounds like they’ve just crashed into each other. With no seatbelts on the school buses, I’m picturing our poor kids spending more time hovering over their seats than sitting in them.

And the dump trucks tear up our streets further when their weight crashes back to earth from bouncing in and out of potholes, dips and frost heaves.
