AUGUSTA — Simon Yorks hit a single to right field to plate Ryan Edwards with the winning run as the Cony baseball team edged Edward Little 3-2 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A 12-inning game Saturday.

Edward Little (4-1) took a 2-1 lead in the 11th inning on a Corey Henderson RBI single.

However, the Rams (1-4) scored an unearned run in the bottom of the inning to extend the game.
Chandler Shostak pitched the final two innings to earn the victory for Cony (1-4). He also had two singles and two doubles.

He relieved freshman Thomas Foster, who allowed just one run and six hits in 10 innings.

Gardiner 3, Oak Hill 1: The Tigers scored three runs in the second inning and that was more than enough for Josh Ouellette, who struck out eight in 6 1/3 innings.

Ouellette allowed just one run before Dennis Meehan relieved him in the seventh.

Josh Mashke, Frank Chepke and Aaron Toman each singled in the second inning to start a rally for Gardiner (3-2). They came around to score on passed balls. 

Josh Martin pitched a complete game for the Raiders (0-5), striking out 11 and allowing just five hits.

Rangeley 14, Richmond 2, 5 innings: Eric White hit a double and a single to help the Lakers take the East-West Conference win in Richmond.

On the mound, White struck out five and walked three while giving up two hits. Rangeley scored 12 runs in the fourth inning.

Rangeley is 1-1, Richmond is 0-3.

Messalonskee 10, Mt. Blue 0: Devin Warren took a no-hiter into the fifth inning and also drove in a pair to lead the Eagles in a KVAC A game in Oakland. Josh Woodard also drove in a pair for the Eagles (2-2).

Warren allowed just one hit and struck out four in five innings of work.

Dustin Richards had a single to account for the lone Mt. Blue (2-2) hit.

Girls lacrosse

Cony 14, Morse 9: Chelsea Begin had five goals and an assist and Mia Diplock scored six goals to lead the Rams to the Class A win in Augusta.

Hayley Quirion, Emily Quirion, Haley Hanks and Alexis Dostie each scored one goal for Cony (3-0). Katrina Duncan made eight saves.

Sadi Crosby had three goals for Morse (0-1) while Lauren Crosby and Kristina Stewart had two apiece.

Tory Field and Ally Miller scored one each. Crystal Leavitt stopped four shots.

Hebron 10, Kents Hill 6: Hannah Hearn scored four goals and Chelsea Boucher added three to lead the Lumberjacks in Kents Hill.

Michaela Faia and Ashley Doyle each scored two goals to lead the Huskies (2-7). Natalaie Duplisea and Caroline Tortorella each scored a goal for Kents Hill.

Softball

Gardiner 13, Oak Hill 1: Winning pitcher Kristal Smith also had five hits and scored five runs to lead the Tigers in a Class B game in Wales.

Smith, who allowed just three hits in five innings, had two triples, two singles, a double and also drove in one run.

Brittany Rollins had two doubles, two singles and two RBIs for Gardiner (4-1) as well. Kylee Granholm had a pair of singles.

Brooke Beganny had an RBI single to lead Oak Hill (2-3).

Messalonskee 15, Mt. Blue 6: Necole Harrison sparked a nine-run sixth inning with a two-run triple to help the Eagles pull away for the KVAC A win.

The teams were tied 6-6 before Messalonskee (4-0) exploded in the sixth. Nikki Collier and Jordan Roy each had a double and a single to lead the Eagles. Kassi Michaud earned the victory, striking out eight in six innings.

Sarah Turner had two singles and Addie Brinkman added a double to lead Mt. Blue (1-3).

Richmond 10, Rangeley 0: Danica Hurley hit a grand slam and Lindsy Hoopingarner had a pair of singles and as many RBIs to lead the Bobcats in Richmond.

Ciarra Lancaster had a triple and a single for Richmond (3-1) as well. Alyssa Pearson had two singles.

Rangeley (1-1) had just three hits, all singles.

Cony 13, Edward Little 0, 6 innings: Maggie Russell hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning and drove in four runs to lead the Rams to the KVAC A victory in Augusta.

Alyssa Brochu had three singles and a double for Cony (5-0) while Nicole Rugan chipped in with three hits, including a triple.

Sonja Morse earned the victory, holding the Red Eddies (1-5) to just one hit.

Kents Hill 7, Hebron 6: Katie Connolly singled to left to drive Joanna Christopher with the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Huskies (2-3) rallied for three runs in the inning to earn the victory.

Samantha Larrabee tripled with one out and later came home on a Marissa Tandy single to make it a 6-5 game. After a hit batter, Christopher had an RBI single to tie the game at 6-6.

Tandy also pitched the complete game to earn the win.

Hebron dropped to 1-4.

Boys lacrosse

Mt. Ararat 7, Cony 0: Josh Richards scored three goals and Nick Dow added a pair to lead the Eagles in Augusta.

Ed Maguire had four saves to earn the shutout for Mt. Ararat (3-1). Nick Oram, Jeremy Hart and Jonathan Brown also scored.

Mike Luber had three saves for Cony (1-3).
