Marine Patrol officer Clint Thompson inspects an elver net Sunday at the confluence of Cobbossee Stream and the Kennebec River in Gardiner.  As the eel fishing season winds down, Thompson said, the recreational shad and alewife harvest commences, warranting continued scrutiny of tidal tributaries.
