During his eight years as governor, Angus King and I had the opportunity to work with and support many military veterans and veterans’ organizations at both the state and the federal levels.
The three veterans’ priorities King has established as he seeks to become our U.S. senator — health care, education and employment — are the same ones for which he advocated as governor.
He worked hard to satisfy these veterans’ priorities by coordinating with veterans’ organizations throughout Maine, by working with our congressional delegation and by meeting with Department of Veterans Affairs officials.
As senator, King will be able to hit the ground running because he spent eight years as governor helping our veterans deal with these issues related to health care, education and employment.
Maine’s veterans have had and will have a very strong voice of support in King. He sincerely respects and cares about our veterans.
