SOUTH PARIS — Nate DelGiudice had five goals and 10 assists while Luke Vigue also scored five goals as Messalonskee defeated Oxford Hills 17-3 in Class A boys lacrosse action Friday.

Ben Weeks added three goals for Messalonskee (8-4) while Dom Dexter, Josh Towle, Eric VanDerKarr and Aiden Calkins each had one.Jake Smith and Dylan Clark combined to make 12 saves.

Ben Braun, Conner Beede and Austin Shute each scored a goal for the Vikings (1-10). Tim Hutchinson made 23 saves.

Baseball

Leavitt 3, Gardiner 1: Brian Bedard had a single, a double and an RBI as the Hornets won the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game in Gardiner.

Jake Palmer had a bunt single, stole second and scored on a ground ball by Aaron Toman in the fourth inning for Gardiner (7-9).

Leavitt (9-6) scored three runs in the third on four singles and two Gardiner errors. Josh Bunker earned the win, striking out nine, walking two and allowing two hits.

Richmond 24-9, Rangeley 9-0: Ben Carver had four hits and four RBIs in the first game as the Bobcats swept a doubleheader in Jay.

Tyler Harrington and Dustin Sullivan each added a pair of hits in the first game for Richmond (4-10).
In the second game, Kade Strout struck out five, walked three and gave up three hits to earn the shutout.

Rangeley falls to 3-11.

Messalonskee 10, Hampden 3: Travis St. Pierre hit a two-run double in a seven-run fifth inning to break open a close game.

Jake Dexter and Trevor Gettig each had two hits to pace the Eagles (10-5).

Fred Knight had two singles to lead Hampden (8-7).

Spruce Mountain 5, Monmouth 4: Ben Keene’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Phoenix to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Jay.

Bill Cassen added an RBI triple and single for the Spruce Mountain and Jake Bessey singled twice.

Kyle Fletcher doubled and singled twice for the Mustangs (3-11) while teammate Phil Rowe tripled.

Morse 6, Oak Hill 1: Liam McDonough went 3 for 4 and had an RBI to lead the visiting Shipbuilders (12-3).

Trenton Moore earned the victory and had two hits as well.

Oak Hill (3-13) had just three hits.

Telstar 12, Winthrop 2: The Rebels scored six runs in the fifth to invoke the mercy rule in the MVC win in Bethel. Ray Whitney led Telstar (12-2) with a double and two singles while Kurt Morgan singled twice.

Jared Hanson singled twice and drove in two runs for Winthrop (7-6).

Softball

Oak Hill 5, Morse 0: Kortni Michaud pitched a two-hitter and struck out five to lead the Raiders to the KVAC B win in Wales.

Brooke LeBel tripled and singled for the winners while Alexis Priest singled twice and Alyssa Rouleau added a two-run triple. Oak Hill is 9-7, Morse is 3-12.

Messalonskee 6, Hampden 2: Phoebe Pelletier had a pair of hits, including a triple, to help the Eagles take the KVAC A win in Hampden.

Courney Veill had a single and a double for Messalonskee (13-2). Kylee Knight also had two hits for the Eagles. Kassi Michaud struck out seven and walked two for the win.

Hampden is now 8-7.

Richmond 14-5, Rangeley 0-9: Sandra Campbell and Seve Deery-Deraps each had two singles and three RBIs as the Lakers handed the Bobcats their first loss of the season, in the second game of a doubleheader in Rangeley.

Tori Letarte added two singles and an RBI, while Ellie Brooks had two RBIs in the second game for Rangeley (10-3). Chantelle Carrier earned the win, striking out four and walking two.

Lindsy Hoopingarner had two home runs for Richmond (13-1).

In the first game, Brianna Snedeker had three singles while Ciarra Lancaster had a double, a single and five RBIs for Richmond. Jamie Plummer and Danica Hurley each added two singles.

Telstar 9, Winthrop 7: Tasha Farnham hit a two-run single and Masy Griffen had a two-run double in an eight-run fourth inning to help the Rebels erase a 5-0 deficit.

Jessica Dirago earned the victory, striking out eight.

Amy Belanger suffered the loss despite striking out 11. Allison Sekerak also had a triple for the Ramblers (4-10).

Leavitt 9, Gardiner 6: Sierra Santomango had three singles as the Hornets beat the Tigers in a KVAC B game in Gardiner.

Emily Perkins and Shelby St. Pierre each added two singles for Leavitt (12-3).

Lily Chepke had two singles, while Kelsey Moody had a two-run single and Steph Plourde an RBI single for Gardiner (8-7).
