PALMYRA — The Chamber office in the Walmart parking lot will be the focus of a Boy Scout Eagle project. Patron Scout Ellery Goode has planned a makeover of the outside of the building. However, it will take funding and donations to complete.

The project will include repair or replacement of the flagpole and walking stones around it, a weather-tight and larger bulletin board to replace an aging one and new window boxes. A new night-time light for the flags (both American and state) has been provided by AAA Electric and Nate and Marti Anderson of Thundering Valley Raceway, along with an outside electrical receptacle.

Fundraising will be necessary to supplement the plans and materials. The organization seeks donations on behalf of Goode to help him complete the project.

The estimated cost for materials is $650-$725.

Donations can be mailed to Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 464, Newport, ME 04953 or if you have materials or time to donate, call t368-4698 or email info@ourchamber.org.
