RUMFORD — Maine authorities say one person is dead following a house fire in Rumford.

The state fire marshal’s office says the house was heavily damaged by fire on Tuesday afternoon. The male victim was found inside the home.

Investigators believe the man lived in the house.

Authorities plan to release more information on Tuesday evening.
