AUGUSTA — The Whatever Family Festival Kids Day scheduled for Saturday has been moved from Capitol Park to the Augusta Civic Center park lots.
The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, which is holding the event, said in a news release Tuesday that the move was needed because of excessive rainfall in recent days that has left the park wet and muddy.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and all event and performance times will remain the same. Activities include a kids stage with music, dancing and character guests such as Sparky the Fire Dog.
Nearly 100 area businesses sponsor the free festival, which typically attracts thousands of people. A full Whatever calendar is available at www.AugustaMaine.com.
