AUGUSTA — One of two Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to lesser charges in connection with a robbery at a city apartment last April.

Darvent Emanuel Cummings, 21, of Stroudsburg, Pa., pleaded guilty Wednesday in Kennebec County Superior Court to aggravated criminal trespass and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon in connection with the April 6 incident.

He also pleaded guilty to assault on an officer, which occurred July 20 and criminal mischief from May 23, all in Augusta.

Cummings was sentenced to five years in jail, with all but two years suspended, and two years of probation. He was ordered to pay $100 in restitution for damage done at the Kennebec County jail.

Charges of robbery, assault and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer were dismissed in exchange for the plea.

A co-defendant who was arrested with Cummings, Tyrone R. Wilkins, 22, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., is scheduled for a court hearing today in the same court. He faces charges of robbery, aggravated criminal trespass, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, assault, and theft.

In connection with the same incident, Stephen Kirkley, 19, of Albany, N.Y., is charged with robbery, aggravated criminal trespass, criminal threatening, theft, refusing to submit to arrest and having a concealed weapon. He is scheduled to be in court today, too.

They were arrested after two women reported that three men forced their way into their Chase Avenue apartment and threatened them with knives and a handgun.

Investigators later recovered a semiautomatic handgun in a barbecue grill and a fixed-blade hunting knife from a couch where a suspect was sitting, according to documents filed in the court.

Several other people also were sentenced in separate hearings in Kennebec County Superior Court this week:

* Peter R. Bragdon, 34, of Mechanic Falls, forgery Feb. 11, 2010, and attempted theft by deception and tax evasion Jan. 29, 2010, in Mechanic Falls, Androscoggin County; 60-day jail sentence.

* Lucas Creamer, 32, of Bath, eluding an officer, operating under the influence, violating condition of release; three-year jail sentence, with all but nine months suspended, two years of probation; $500 fine, 90-day license suspension.

* Justin McInnis, 28, of Augusta, unlawful furnishing of scheduled drug March 31 in Augusta, and forfeiture of $1,705; seven-day jail sentence, $400 fine.

* Lynne L. Violette, 49, of Readfield, driving to endanger Feb. 22 in Winthrop; 96-hour jail sentence, to be served in the alternative sentencing program, $1,000 fine, 30-day license suspension.

* Ronald Eugene Wilson III, 35, of Rome, illegal possession of a firearm Jan. 14 in Waterville; nine-month jail sentence.
