For some 60-plus years, I’ve voted in every election.
For 20 or 30 of those years, I believed every word the candidates told me, even knowing that they never in this world could ever be able to keep any of those promises. I was considered what you might call a believer.
In the last 30 or 40 years, however, I started having many doubts; I think this now makes me a doubting Thomas.
That brings me to this year’s state and national elections. I can truthfully say that I’ve never been so embarrassed and disgusted with all candidates running for office.
I hope any future candidates can learn a lesson from these disgusting elections and run clean elections when their time comes. Our kids and their kids deserve better than this.
