SCARBOROUGH

— Senior striker Isabel Agnew had a goal and an assist and junior midfielder Walker Foehl had two assists as Waynflete rallied to beat Fort Kent 3-2 in the Class C girls’ soccer championship game Saturday at the Kippy Mitchell Complex at Scarborough High.

It is the first Class C title for Waynflete (12-2-4) since 2008.

After senior midfielder Sadie Cole gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead, Eastern Maine champion Fort Kent (13-4-1) got goals from senior defender Alexis Desjardins and freshman midfielder Jessica Morin to lead 2-1 at the half.

The Flyers came out hard after intermission, scoring twice in 45 seconds midway through the second half to regain the lead. Freshman Arianna Giguere tied it at 1 on a low, hard shot from about 15 yards. Then Agnew scored the winner off a scramble created by Foehl’s corner from the right side.

Sophomore Juliana Hardwood made eight saves for Waynflete. Alexa Pelletier had 14 for Fort Kent.
