WATERVILLE — Investigators have rescheduled a meeting with the mother of missing toddler Ayla Reynolds.

Trista Reynolds said Friday that a sergeant from Maine State Police called her that morning to reschedule the appointment for next week.

Two weeks ago, police announced that investigators would meet with Reynolds “in the coming days,” however Reynolds said on Thursday that the meeting was canceled by a detective, and she hadn’t heard from police since.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland, who is on vacation, didn’t immediately respond to a reporter’s message.

Ayla was reported missing on Dec. 17, 2011.

No arrests have been made and no one has been named as a suspect. Investigators also believe Ayla is dead. State police are asking that anyone with information call them at 624-7076.
