CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire is experiencing a combination of strong winds and plummeting temperatures during a topsy-turvy day that started with readings as high as 60 degrees in the morning.
At least four ski areas closed for the day Thursday or closed some trails because of the wind — or because of the warmer weather.
More than 13,000 power outages were reported throughout the state by midday. More were possible as the winds were expected to strengthen to gusts of up to 60 mph.
Temperatures started out unusually warm for the day, but are expected to drop down to the 30s by the afternoon.
