Border post dodger ordered deported
COBURN GORE — A man with dual citizenship from Brazil and Italy who entered the country illegally Saturday in Coburn Gore will be deported.
The man, Leandro Bettiol, 26, pleaded guilty to an illegal entry charge Monday in federal court in Bangor and was sentenced to time served and ordered deported to Italy, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Bettiol walked around the port of entry to avoid inspection, according to the release.
He remained in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday.
