The other day I was at a local store waiting to check out and a couple of young women were in front of me. They had two carts of items, and I noted that they had a lot of groceries. One of them said they were shopping for a group home.

That was fine until I went out the door and saw them loading the red van with the items. They were parked in a handicapped spot, and no other people were with them.

Then I saw an elderly woman walking with a cane from farther down the packing lot because there was no place for her to park in the handicapped parking area.

I see this all too often: Someone borrows a car that has a handicapped card and takes up a handicapped spot because they are too lazy to walk. They should remember that they just might need that parking spot someday.
