BOSTON — Logan International Airport in Boston is reporting dozens of canceled arriving and departing flights amid freezing rain advisories in southern New England and a snowstorm in the Midwest.
The canceled flights on Sunday include a number of trips between Logan and O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, where 5 to 7 inches of snow fell overnight.
Some flights between Logan and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York also were canceled. JFK temporarily suspended flights in the morning because of icy runways, after a plane from Toronto landed and slid into snow on a taxiway. No one was hurt.
The National Weather Service says freezing rain is expected in much of interior southern New England on Sunday. There is a small chance for freezing rain in eastern Massachusetts coastal areas.
