MONMOUTH — Monmouth Academy has announced its top 10 seniors in the class of 2014.
Brandon Goff, son of Eric and Christina Goff, is ranked first. Goff was Student Council treasurer and a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and Math Team. He also participated in varsity football, varsity basketball, varsity baseball and varsity soccer. Goff plans to attend Saint Anselm College and major in biology.
Sabrina Beck, daughter of Douglas and Jodi Beck, is ranked second. Beck was class vice president her freshmen year and class president her sophomore year. She was a member of Envirothon, Destination Imagination, drama club, Academic Decathlon and participated in varsity soccer, varsity softball and Nordic skiing. Beck plans to attend the University of New Hampshire and major in biology.
Dylan Thombs, son of Norman Thombs and Kathy Perless, is ranked third. He was senior class president and president of National Honor Society. He was a member of Key Club, Envirothon, Student Council, Drama and Academic Decathlon. He also participated in varsity cross country, varsity Nordic skiing and varsity track and field. Thombs plans to go to Bates College and intends to major in biology and education.
Emily Vancil, daughter of Ms. Angela Krehbiel-Vancil, is ranked fourth. Vancil was a member of the National Honor Society and chorus. She was a peer helper and assisted students in a variety of classes. Vancil plans to attend Johnson and Wales University and major in baking and pastry.
Marinna Smith, daughter of Nancy E. Smith and R. Ivan Smith, is ranked fifth. She is a member of MAD Players and Monmouth Academy Academic Decathlon team. She has earned numerous medals in Academic Decathlon Competition and even several national medals in the National online competition. Smith will attend the University of Maine to major in bioengineering.
Robert Vickerson, son of James and Kristy Vickerson, is ranked sixth. He is the senior class treasurer and is a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and Key Club. He participates in varsity tennis and varsity golf.
Vickerson plans to attend Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island and major in international business.
Tiffany Pease, daughter of Randy and Roseanne Pease, is ranked seventh. She was senior class secretary and member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and was September’s student of the month. She also attended Girls State in 2013 and is a helper at the local food bank. She participated in cross country, Nordic skiing and track and field. Pease plans to attend Liberty University to major in psychology and minor in business management.
Kylie Kemp, daughter of Scott and Roberta Kemp, is ranked eighth. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the United Youth Group of Monmouth. She participated in varsity soccer, varsity basketball and varsity softball. Kemp plans to attend the University of Maine at Augusta.
Rebecca Fernandez, daughter of Denise and Hector Fernandez, is ranked ninth. She was vice president of Key Club. She participated in art club, Envirothon, varsity cross country, varsity Nordic skiing and varsity track and field. Fernandez plans to attend University of Maine at Machias in the fall and major in marine biology.
Stephen C. Arsenault, son of Stephanie Acrey and Stephen Arsenault, is ranked 10th. He was captain in varsity football and participated in varsity baseball throughout his high school career. Arsenault plans to attend Unity College in the fall and major in wildlife biology.
