PALERMO — Holly Flowers was recently elected to the board of directors of the Palermo Community Library. Flowers and her family moved to Palermo in June 2012, from Hawaii.

Flowers obtained her bachelor of arts in political science and Russian studies at the University of Southern California and her juris doctorate at American University, Washington College of Law. Following her graduation from law school, she practiced law in Washington DC, for a number of years.

Flowers left Washington for Sedona, Ariz., where she gradually left the law behind and took up ranching and organic biodynamic farming. Now she devotes her time and efforts to raising her daughter, and breeding sport horses, sheep, goats and more.

Flowers brings to the Palermo Library Board experience from two other non-profit boards, on which she has sat in officer capacity, as well as a wide-ranging variety of experiences and contacts. She is also a published author. Flowers looks forward to bringing new ideas and energy to the Palermo Library.

The Palermo Community Library is an all-volunteer library. For more information, call 993-6088.
