BELGRADE — Maine State Historian Earle Shettleworth will speak at the Maine Lakes Resource Center in Belgrade Lakes at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. In his program, Tourism in the Belgrades, Shettleworth will use old photographs, post cards and tourist brochures to trace how Victorian religious campgrounds paved the way for hotels, fishing camps and boys and girls camps in the Belgrades.

Shettleworth has served as executive director of the Maine Historic Preservation Commission for many years, and has lectured and written extensively on Maine history and architecture.

Admission cost $5 for non-members and is free to members of the Belgrade Historical Society. For more information, call 797-3218.
