The University of Maine at Farmington will conduct a memorial service for long-serving former professor Russell Rainville.
The service will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 15 in Nordica Auditorium in Merrill Hall.
Rainville, a professor for 37 years in UMF’s Mathematics and Computer Science Division, died unexpectedly of medical complications in May.
The service will celebrate and honor his contributions and memory, according to a release from the university. A reception will follow in the Ferro Alumni Center on the UMF campus.
A scholarship has been established in Russell’s name. Contributions may be made to the University of Maine at Farmington and mailed to 242 Main St., Farmington, ME 04938 with Russell Rainville on the memo line or by calling Lisa Gallant at the Ferro Center at 207-778-7090.
