This week’s guest is Mt. Blue senior center/kicker Anthony Franchetti, who took time to answer a few questions after a recent practice.
What is your favorite sports team?
It’s got to be those Red Sox.
When did you start playing football?
Fourth grade was the first year.
What do you like most about your position?
I just love being able to go out there with the guys, and really have the brotherhood and do my job and know that they’ll do theirs. There’s nothing better than getting off the field with a win.
What’s your favorite moment playing high school football?
Every moment’s my favorite moment. Whether it be practice, or weight lifting, or anything in the summer, Friday nights. You’ve got to love every moment, because you only have so many.
What’s it like having your dad as a coach? (Peter Franchetti is a longtime assistant coach at Mt. Blue)
I love it. On the sidelines or at the breakfast table, he’s always a coach. I’ve loved it, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
