If Augusta granted an award for good citizenship it should go to Sherry MacMaster, who volunteers to assist school children crossing Western Avenue.

MacMaster’s picture has been on Kennebec Journal’s front page three times since school began. Bravo!

I’m glad the City Council figured out where crossing guides are most needed, then OK’d necessary funding to restore one each to Western and Eastern avenues.

By the way, did you know that in Greek mythology, Hero is a woman?
