Has anyone else noticed that when the Department of Transportation repaves our roads, they are not doing the shoulders?
In some areas, there is just old crumbled tar, with pot holes and broken glass. It is impossible to walk or ride a bicycle on this type of surface, so in these areas, cars and trucks must share the road with cyclists and walkers. This seems unsafe to me. I believe that all roads should have safe walking and bike paths.
Our property taxes go up yearly, yet our roads get narrower each year.
Maybe if the DOT paved all the shoulders, more people would be motivated to get some exercise, and our roads would be safer.
