In response to Robert Gross of Gardiner, (letter, Oct. 2), I ask that he get his information straight before writing. The day care in question is an “at-home” day care and the part the kids are in is separated from where the family lives.

As a parent of two of the children that go there, I can say that the children are gated off, plus they have french doors separating the mud room from the care center.

My children come home talking about the owner, and if we see her at football my daughter goes running to her while screaming her name. I trust my kids lives with her and also know she loves them.

Her house burned to the ground only because the owner saw smoke and got all of her kids out before she even looked at what was on fire.

That is a hero, not someone that should have her day care shut down. She is a great mother of three and needs an income. I would pay her over a day care that has so many kids they can’t pay attention to them like ours can.
