Former Waterville City Councilor Steve Aucoin was not well known by those of us living on Silvermount Street, but now he will never be forgotten. The city wanted to change the zoning laws so a chiropractor could buy a house on Silver Street and have a parking lot for 25 cars on our street 12 feet from my neighbors living room windows. Steve worked tirelessly with handouts and visiting neighbors as it would have been a dangerous situation for the many children on our street.
He is maintenance director for the Alfond Youth Center and has done much for our youth.
Steve says he worries about the new trash collection system on the poor and elderly and says he is not running against anything, he is running for something. He seems to help those most in need and he would make a great mayor.
