I’ve checked in with Rep. Chris Johnson, D-Somerville, on a number of bills before the Legislature. Chris isn’t an ordinary politician. He fits the description of a public servant — meeting with us in our homes, helping businesses and families navigate through state agencies, and listening to what us voters need before he proposes a solution.

He leads in restoring revenue sharing so we don’t see a spike in property taxes, funding downtown revitalization and jobs training, strengthening the circuit-breaker program, protecting small businesses against unfair advantages of large corporations, marketing for lobsters, and getting bonds for more seafood processing.

He supports expanding Medicaid to help 60,000 Maine families and 3,000 veterans, and we wouldn’t need to bail out hospitals again and again. Our citizen Legislature works pretty well in spite of strong differences in philosophy. Imagine how well it would work if there were more legislators like Chris Johnson. Let’s re-elect Chris.
