Sen. Colleen Lachowicz, D-Waterville, is a state senator I can count on. I emailed her one night because I was concerned about a bill that would allow people to sue the state if complying with a law went against their religious beliefs and another bill that would allow religious exemption as a defense against charges of child endangerment.
Not only did Colleen respond immediately, but she asked questions to learn more about my concerns. She really listened. She cares and she’s responsive. That is what I want in a state legislator.
We may not always share the same concerns in the future, but I’ll feel better knowing that I’m being represented by someone who values my opinion and works to represent it effectively and in a timely manner.
