I’ve known Rep. Ann Dorney, D-Norridgewock, for decades and have always been impressed by her integrity, commitment and work ethic.
Service members and veterans, especially, benefit from her work in the Legislature. I can say that as a Vietnam veteran, a retired Navy reservist and a member of American Legion Post 16 in Skowhegan.
Dorney fights to expand health care access for veterans and has volunteered her free time to care for homeless vets. A vocal supporter of the armories bond, she wanted to ensure our National Guard members train in decent facilities. She voted for a measure that supports military recruiters so they and others in uniform can discuss career paths with students. She supported other legislation that helps ease the transition to civilian life. Dorney is a steadfast supporter of measures close to the hearts of veterans and service members. We are lucky to have her.
