One of the biggest problems Maine faces is the fact that we are the oldest state in the country. Young people are moving out, and so few new residents move in.
We need more young people to settle here if we want to reverse this trend. To do that, we need not only a stronger economy, but also innovative ideas that give young people incentives to make a life here.
Rep. Matt Pouliot, R-Augusta, is a 27-year-old Augusta native. We went to Cony together. After high school, I went to college out of state, later coming back to work in Maine. Matt went to University of Maine at Augusta, staying here to build a career and work for us in the Legislature.
Matt understands what young people in Maine are going through. We need younger, proven representation at the State House, and that’s why I’m voting for Matt Pouliot.
