It won’t be a surprise that I support Monica Castellanos for state representative since I am her mom, but there are a few things I want to share about my daughter.

We had a tough time making ends meet when Monica was young. She unfortunately knows and experienced in some of those years exactly what it is like to be right on the edge of making it or not making it. And that is very hard.

I am proud of her for working so hard to put herself through college. I am proud she has worked so hard in her career to become a senior advisor and spokeswoman to U.S. Congressman Mike Michaud and now a successful small business woman. And I am proud my daughter cares so much about helping people who are genuinely struggling get back on their feet. That’s who Monica is and always will be.
