Many politicians are full of promises and short on results, but our state representative in Augusta, Republican Matt Pouliot, is more action and less talk. Shortly after he got elected, he was in the Kennebec Journal pushing for the Department of Transportation to prioritize Mount Vernon Avenue, which was in really bad shape.

It’s easy to get your hopes up with stories like that, but Matt and the DOT delivered. We finally have a new surface on that high-traffic road and no longer have to deal with the jarring bumps and slow speeds trying to get from one end of town to the other.

Matt understands that success as a public servant isn’t about rhetoric and ideology, it’s about identifying the day-to-day problems that affect your constituents and solving them. That’s why I am voting for Matt Pouliot — because he gets the job done.
