A man with an accordion likely conjures up lots of images in your mind, and almost all of them will make you smile.

That fun promises to be infectious Monday night when Dresden’s Peter Walsh, the self-dubbed Accordion Dude, leads patrons in a group sing-along at Slates restaurant at 167 Water St., in Hallowell.

“After being bombarded by speeches, debates and TV ads in this year’s election, it is time for everyone to stand up and have your voice heard,” Walsh said in a news release. “And the louder you sing the more the accordion will be drowned out.”

Slates is known for its live music Mondays, but Walsh said the chance to sing along with an accordion is unique. Lyrics will be available.

“You may also learn a few things about the accordion, whether you want to or not,” Walsh said.

The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Rainbow Club, an organization that provides social activities for those who are blind or visually impaired.

Reservations are required by calling 622-9575. For more information call Walsh at 737-2807.
