AUGUSTA — A jury convicted a Gardiner man of aggravated assault and assault on another man in an incident that occurred June 24, 2013, in Randolph.

David A. Farnham, 35, was found guilty following a one-day trial Wednesday in Kennebec County Superior Court.

“We were disappointed the jury did not accept our self-defense arguments,” Farnham’s attorney, Walter McKee, said on Thursday.

Farnham testified in his own defense.

The incident left the victim, Michael T. Morse, with injuries, although he has apparently since recovered. He also testified at the trial.

The judge, Justice Donald Marden, continued the case for sentencing.

Farnham remains free on bail.
