AUGUSTA — The more than two dozen people displaced by a fire in Augusta are getting help to find new housing.
A Housing and Resource Fair is being held on Monday to help those in impacted by the Friday-morning fire that destroyed a four-story apartment building. Twenty-seven people were displaced.
The event at the Gilbert Elementary School in Augusta will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Landlords and property management companies will be there to help those who were impacted by the fire find vacant apartments in the area.
Other groups, including the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Family Independence and the City of Augusta Health and Welfare, will be on hand at the event.
