Friends of Starling Hall will sponsor a starting seeds workshop to kick off a new series of gardening workshops designed to help people grow and harvest their best garden, while also supporting the hall’s rebuilding efforts. The workshop is planned from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Starling Hall, Route 17, Fayette. Local gardener Jean St. Clair will lead the workshop. She will share her expertise on how to get the best start for seedlings, covering topics such as plants, soil mediums and containers, optimal timing for various species, and how to avoid common problems. Those who attend can learn ways to begin a garden while the ground is still snowbound.
Recommended donation is $5 and will cover the cost of printed materials and help support the rebuilding of the hall.

This is the first in an upcoming series of gardening workshops sponsored by the Friends of Starling Hall. Friends also want to hear from those who have expertise to share in a workshop.
