WATERVILLE — The NAMI Mid Maine Affiliate of The National Alliance for Mental Illness in Maine recently honored Diane Bechard and the late Julian Bechard at the REM Community Volunteers Award Ceremony. They were honored for their years of work as volunteers at NAMI Mid Maine and the High Hopes Clubhouse and at NAMI Maine, according to a news release from NAMI.

Their work included better services for individuals living with mental illness, support for their families, and a legacy for current volunteers at NAMI Mid Maine of strength, commitment, empathy and love, according to the release.
